The Blown Fuse Problem occurs due to the High Voltage or Current, there are several Fuses to protect every accessory of the Speaker, Speakers are one of those places that can be damaged by a large quantity of current.

So, people install fuses in the speaker wire that is coming from the amplifier to save their speakers from getting damaged. In this way, the speakers get a limited amount of power that they require to operate properly. The Easiest way to solve the problem is to Locate the fuse in the speaker wire and check all the fuses if they are blown. Replace those fuses with the new and better ones so that they do not bother you again.

If the fuse is located outside the speaker box, then it will be easy for you to replace them. If the fuse is located inside the speaker box, then you will have to open the screws of the speaker with a screwdriver and take the speaker out to find the fuses. In this way, you can correct this error in the speakers.

Damaged signals wire

Damaged signal wires are the Important problem to detect in the case of speakers because when the speakers stop working, you may not know what the main problem in the system is.

The speaker wires may be doing some problem, the amp is doing some problem, the head unit is doing problem, or the signal wires may have been damaged.

Whenever you put the signal wires through your car, you must pass it from the sides of the inside of your car. You should never pass them from the footrests of your car.

Another important thing for the signal wires is that you must always install the wires properly, which is pushing the wires inside their port properly so that they must not be left loose.

One speaker working and the other is not

To check that the speaker is fine, but the wire is cut, you must go through some steps.

Get a screwdriver and open your speaker. If it is in the box, then open the screws of the speakers and get the speaker out. When your speaker is out, make sure that the speaker is completely disconnected from the amplifier.

When the speakers are placed very close to each other, so close that the magnetic field of one speaker tries to enter the magnetic field of the other speaker, they will not work as they should.

The speakers have a mechanism with the magnetic coil that creates a powerful movement of the diaphragm, which creates bass and loud sound.

But when the magnetic field is not free to process its power and is continuously opposing another field, it will not work with its full strength.

So, the speakers must be placed at least one foot away from each other to give each other their required space to operate.

Longer wires are beneficial for your sound setup because, with this feature, you can move your sound system easily. Suppose if you decide to place your speakers to another location and you are out of wire, then you must add a new wire or connect another wire with it which is not a healthy option.

Also, when your speaker wire is damaged from somewhere, and you cut the damaged part from that place to attach the remaining part again, but you are short on wire. You can face many difficulties if you do not keep a good length wire.

If your wire is long and it is pulling out because of the stuff in the trunk, then place the wires in such a way that is attached to the inner surface of the backseat and goes through the walls of your car.

Improper connection of wires

If your speakers are fine, your wires are fine, and your amplifier is fine, then you may have a problem with your connection of wires, The wires must have been damaged so the right power supply does not go to the Speaker or Amplifier.

Try to check your speakers by swapping the two input wires of the speakers either from the amplifier or the back of the speakers if you have pin connections in your speaker box. It works most of the time.

Guidelines to troubleshoot your Amplifier as below,

  • Problem – Amplifier Doesn’t Power on at All

Solution to the Amplifier Problem as below,

Amplifier should have the power both in the remote and power wires. If it is not turning on because of the Power is not supplied properly, It is time to troubleshoot the problem.

If the remote turn-on wire doesn’t have power, your amp won’t turn on. The remote wire acts essentially like your finger flicking a switch, where your finger is battery power, and the switch is a mechanism inside the amplifier.

If there is no power in the remote terminal, You need to check the radio connecting the Corresponding Wire. If your amp is wired incorrectly, and the remote turn-on is connected instead to the power antenna wire on the head unit, you may find that the amp only powers on sometimes. 

Using the Power Cables which are too small for the amplifier will cause the Thermal Shutdown of the Amplifier. 8-Guage Power & Ground Cable is needed for the Amplifier you are using. The Amplifier Power Cable should be 18” Long and should be the same size as the power cable, bolted directly to a solid, thick steel part of the chassis which is scraped clean of any paint or primer for best possible grounding. positive power cable should be attached directly to the vehicle’s battery using a high-quality battery post adapter and must be fused within 18″ of the battery itself. The power Cabling must be Setup Properly for the overall Performance of the Amplifier.

Amplifier should have the good power and the ground, that the remote wire is having the right Voltage when the head unit is turned on. Also make a Check that none of the Fuses are blown that you are not dealing with the busted amplifier.

Problem – Protect Mode Light Turns On

The Amplifiers usually go into the Protect Mode to avoid further damage of the Components of the Amplifiers. If your Amplifier goes into Protect Mode of Light On, then you have a Faulty Speakers, Subwoofer Cable Etc. If the Problem is in the Speaker you can perform the Visual Inspection to rectify the Speaker and Subwoofer in the System.

Use Ohmmeter and Rectify the Grounded Speakers, if any speaker wires become loose and contact ground or if the speaker connections themselves are in contact with bare metal.

RCA patch cables that are grounded out or otherwise faulty can also cause the protect light to come on. To check this, you can simply hook up a set of good RCA cables to your head unit and amp. If that causes the light to turn off, replacing the RCA cables will fix the problem.

  • Problem – Amplifier is getting Hot or Shutting Down & Amplifier Volume is turning down

The Speakers are blown out. The power the Amplifier is getting is very poor. The Bass Control Setting is too High, Too Low Impedance. The amplifier then “sees” a low impedance and tries to keep up with it but heats up due to the extra power it’s trying to make. Once it gets too hot, it shuts down for protection.

  • Problem – Sounds Like the Amplifier Is Clipping

Solution to the Amplifier Problem as below,


Audio waveform having a Sound distortion is known as Sounds Clippings by the Amplifier. When there is no Enough Power to the Amplifier from the Subwoofer or other Speakers. You Would need to downgrade or Upgrade the Speaker or the Amplifier. So if you feel like your woofer or subwoofer amp is clipping, the first thing you’ll want to do is compare the amp’s power rating with the speaker.

If you find that the amp has plenty of power for the application, then there could be a problem with your speaker wires, the speakers themselves, or the amplifier’s ground.

  • Problem – No Sound Is Coming from Your Speakers

Solution to the Amplifier Problem as below,


Is your Amplifier not turning “On”, Make sure your Amplifier is receiving Input from the Head Unit. Simply unplug the RCA cables from each unit and reconnect them with a good set.

Head Unit is turned On, Volume is Turned Up, Cycle through the Multiple Inputs , like the radio tunerCD player, or auxiliary input. After bypassing the installed RCA cables, then you’ll just need to replace them with a good set. If you get sound from one input but not another, the problem is in your head unit, and not your amp.

If you still don’t get any output from your amplifier, then you’ll want to try disconnecting it from the speakers in your vehicle and hooking up a known good speaker that isn’t in your car.

If the amp drives that just fine, then you have a problem with your speakers or wiring. If you still don’t get any sound, then you could have a faulty amplifier, although you’ll want to check that it isn’t in “slave” mode and that you don’t have conflicting filters before you condemn the unit.

  • Problem – Hear a Lot of Hissing or Other Distortion from the Speakers

You would need to track down the source of the distortion, you need to know the potential cause,

Inspect the Patch cables and Speaker Wires.

If the cables that connect your head unit and amplifier run alongside any power or ground cables at any point, they can pick up interference that you will then hear as distortion.

Rerouting the wires so that they don’t come close to any power or ground cables, and that they cross at a 90-degree angle if necessary.

Using higher quality cables or wires with good shielding can also help.

  • Problem – Subwoofer Sounds Like It’s Farting

Strange sounds can come from a subwoofer that’s overpowered, underpowered, or simply installed incorrectly, so getting to the bottom of this particular problem can take some work.

Eliminate the Problems with the Speakers, If the enclosure isn’t the right fit for your sub, then the sub typically won’t sound right either. If the speaker isn’t mounted properly, it can allow air to escape while you’re listening to music.

Impedance matching is pretty simple if you have one sub hooked to one amp — it either matches or it doesn’t. If you have multiple subs hooked to a single amp, then you’ll have to do some calculations based on whether they’re hooked up in series or parallel.

Should you find that the impedances match, then you’ll want to check both the power ratings of your sub and your amp and make the necessary corrections if the amp is either under- or over-powered.

In the event you are using a woofer (or a combination of woofers) that results in a load that’s lower than what the amplifier manufacturer recommends, the amp may shut down to protect itself.

Most common is the use of two 4-Ohm woofers wired together in parallel for a 2-Ohm load, then bridging the amplifier to that load – but the amp is designed for 4-Ohms, not 2-Ohms.

The amplifier then “sees” a low impedance and tries to keep up with it but heats up due to the extra power it’s trying to make. Once it gets too hot, it shuts down for protection.

  • Problem – Gain & Bass Boost

The most obvious thing to check is your Gain and Punch Bass control settings. The gain adjustment (or control) is a level-matching control that adjusts the amplifier to work with the electronic piece(s) used before the amplifier.

Essentially, by dialing-in the gain control you’re telling the amp how much signal you’re putting into it so the amplifier will reproduce the signal accurately.

If you have the gain set too high, the amp will make full power right away, and you’ll have problems with distortion and “clipping”.

If the gain is set too low, the amp will still make full power, but it might not sound as loud as it should, and you’ll think you aren’t getting much volume.

Required Items for the Fixing of the Subwoofer – You’ll need 3/4-inch-thick medium-density fiberboard, PVA glue, screws, clamps, silicone, carpeting, a terminal cup (which is a plastic cup with terminals to connect the speaker wires to the speakers), speaker wire, and the subwoofer. Tools such as tape measure, pencil, screwdriver, jigsaw, drill, and soldering iron. For the power and ground wires, you will need thicker wires depending on how powerful the amplifier is. REALLY powerful amps could need as much as a 0 gauge wire.

When looking at speakers and amplifiers, do not look at the peak power. A speaker or amp can only be run on the peak power for about a minute before it goes bad or overheats. You want to be running your subwoofers on its RMS rating rather than the peak rating.

Choosing a size for a speaker is also important. Smaller speakers like the 8- and 10-inch ones, are very quick to respond and punch better than bigger ones, but are not very loud. Bigger ones like 15+ inch ones, are very loud compared to smaller ones at the same wattage, but have slow response, and make the sound mushier. The bigger ones also handle lower frequencies better too. 12-inch speakers are a good compromise for a basic system.

The Right place to mount the Subwoofer is in the Front Trunk or in the Luggage back area of the Car.  The flat rear surface of the box should sit against the back of your rear seat, leaving the speaker facing outward into the luggage area.

Measure and Fix the Subwoofer as below,

We will start with wiring the power from the battery. It is important to get the power from the battery. You could also easily blow a fuse by using the little ones the fuse box has. Run the majority of the power cable through the hole in the firewall, making sure to leave enough wire to get to the battery.

If you look at all the wires coming out of the back of the head unit, there should be 1 or 2 blue ones. These are called the remote wires.

If your wires are labeled they may be labeled as:
-Power Antenna
-Pwr. Ant.
or something similar to one of those.

If there are 2 wires, there should be one labeled Amp. If there is just one blue wire, you can use that. If you have a power antenna, you will have to splice into the blue wire for use with the amp too. What you need to do is connect the 16 – 18-gauge wire to the correct blue wire. When the stereo comes on, so will the amp.

The Measurement of the Box should be few Inches outside the diameter of the Speaker where the Box diameter is more over the diameter of the Speaker.

Size the box by cutting the unwanted space of the box.

You would need a Certain Space in the Box to Mount the Screws to fix the Car Subwoofer.

Put the speaker in the box, making sure the flimsy thin gasket thing is on it.
If the box has its own connectors on the outside, make sure they are wired to the speaker inside.

Predrill the Mounting Screws to a Smaller Hole Size using the Jigsaw and Driller.

Cut the Hole to Fix the Speaker Wires on the sides of the diameter of the Speaker on the box.

Fit the terminal cup, using silicone to seal and secure it in place.

Glue the Sides of the Box Front, Back, Bottom and Top to Place the Subwoofer inside the Box.

The Box should be Airtight so seal the box with Silicon

Spread the Carpet over the Box with the help of Glue and Tightly cover the box area with the Glue and the Carper.

Carper must be cur for every segment where the Speaker holes are neatly visible. The Front Section has to be Glued with the Carpet.

Run the Wires of the Speaker through the Holes of the terminals so you solder the Wires with Positive to Positive and Negative to Negative.

Connect the power cable from the battery into the spot on the amp that has one of the following markings (do not connect it to the speaker positive):

Connect the 16 to 18 gauge wire into the spot that says:

Connect the 3 foot, 10 gauge wire to the one marked (do not connect it to the speaker negative):

Connect the other end of the ground wire to a nearby bolt that connects to the body of the car.

Connect the speaker wire to the + and – marked for speakers on the amp. 

The final step is to go and connect the power cable to the battery. Make sure a large fuse is in the fuse holder.

Fit the speaker in place and secure it with screws. Place the speaker cover on the speaker, Connect the wires from your sound system. You’re ready to rock with the Nice Music!
